Orphans

When a farmer in Surrey, England, discovered three orphaned fox cubs whimpering in a hole under his garden shed, he brought them into his home. Then, he gave them his 3-year-old daughter's stuffed toy fox.

To his surprise, the cubs bonded to the toy, so much so that they wouldn't go to sleep without the faux fox in their basket!

Now, the foxes (all four of them) are at Wildlife Aid, a sanctuary in Leatherhead, England, and the three live cubs are working on getting stronger so that they'll someday be released into the wild.

In the meantime, they're busy trying to give food to their "mum," who even has a name. The orange-colored toy is named Flo after Florence Welch, the redheaded lead singer of British indie rock group Florence and the Machine.

I know what you mean i look at some of them tossing the seed on the ground, i am like hey birdie thats good money you toss on the ground lol. i have some good feeders that the squrrels don;t get into so much. i just went out front and the birds are singing..

I love reading, always have.  Who is the author of the clan of the cave bear?  I spend to much money on books but better that than spending money on stuff that isn't important!!  I also love the birds, feed them year round,  the hummingbirds are back and I have 3 feeders for them, also have 6 feeders for the other birds, my only problem is keeping the darned squirrels out of them.  I don't care what I do the squirrels get to the feeders.  It is getting pretty expensive now.

I am reading "the clan of the cave bear" series and in it she tames wild animals that are injured.. if you have to read something gotta check out this series.. the name sounds funky, but i am re-reading all 6 books as the final one came out. I went and put some bird seed out yesterday and the birdies are a singing, with our strange weather and deep snow, they have been suffering so i scrounged up some money for bird seed.. lelo loves the birdies!! love ya girl

I agree Wanda.  I know you should never interfere with a wild animal, the only time I have done that was with an Opossum, my dogs injured it and I picked it up and sheltered it until it was okay.  My husband thought I was insane, but it was the softest sweetest little creature and I am glad I could help it survive.

Yeah here often the foxes will go under a shed to have their litter and many people think momma has abandoned them, when if fact she is hunting. So they actually put out information stating to leave them alone as once we handle them momma will leave and they end up going to a zoo.. we rarely see foxes here in alberta, in the mountains due to the wolfs, cougars and coyotes hunting.. but they are so sweet!!. its definatley better then them dieing we can learn so much about them!!

I don't know much about them but thought it was quite interesting how they took care of them in England.

awe cutie pie.. however we leave the kits alone as if you move them or get human scent on them the mom will abandon them! love it though!!
