Bess - you are a star, this week in particular

Beautiful Bess............your loved friend and my best friend, my mother, died last week and you have been putting up with so much - time left alone, far too much, me being totally distracted and comings and goings - but all the time, you have been loving. You have left me alone, other than giving me mournful looks - no rushing around for walks and play...you are sad too and I feel so sorry about this. The last couple of days I have been able to give you more attention, but you so must wonder what is going on.

But when I am on my own, you are always there, my faithful, beautiful companion - what would I do without you, my precious Bess..
