Just this side of Heaven is a place called Rainbow Bridge.

Just this side of Heaven is a place called Rainbow Bridge. When an animal dies that has been especially close to someone here, that pet goes to Rainbow Bridge. There are meadows and hills for all of our special friends so they can run and play together. There is plenty of food, water and sunshine, and our friends are warm and comfortable.

All the animals who had been ill and old are restored to health and vigor. Those who were hurt or maimed are made whole and strong again, just as we remember them in our dreams of days and times gone by. The animals are happy and content, except for one small thing; they each miss someone very special to them, who had to be left behind.

They all run and play together, but the day comes when one suddenly stops and looks into the distance. His bright eyes are intent. His eager body quivers. Suddenly he begins to run from the group, flying over the green grass, his legs carrying him faster and faster.

You have been spotted, and when you and your special friend finally meet, you cling together in joyous reunion, never to be parted again. The happy kisses rain upon your face; your hands again caress the beloved head, and you look once more into the trusting eyes of your pet, so long gone from your life but never absent from your heart.

Then you cross Rainbow Bridge together....

It was getting too much for her and she wasn't feeling well even though she did eat, drink and did her business as always. But her body was getting too skinny and her lump was cut opened by one of her nails so we had blood in quite a few places and she was scared too. That happened Tuesday night. Kept adding medicine and bandages but she managed to tear them off.
I quite upset right now and we will missed her.

She was 12 and 1/2 years old. Dec. 13th was her birthday.

Comment by Judy Carter on August 22, 2012 at 1:57pm: Left to mourn Branna is Raisin, Pepper, Sugar, Pearl and Tucker. Branna passed away on the beach after coming out of the water from her last swim. Her ashes should arrive this week from the Vet we took her body too in Nakusp B.C while on holidays. I have to shut the song on this section as I start crying all over again.

If you ever decide to get another one, she will be right by your side helping you to decide on which one to choose. She will be in spirit. The one that you choose will take up where she left off (NOT replace).

Comment by Judy Carter on August 19, 2012 at 4:04pm: Loosing Branna has been very hard as we thought we had more time but we didn't. She couldn't wait to get to the lake and go swimming that morning so at least she died doing what she loved fetching sticks in the water. Her last week on this earth I made sure she ate all the food she loved and all the walks and swims she wanted after all our vacation was about her and her older brother Raisin. Raisin is 15 and still hanging in there thankfully. My heart is really feeling her loss. The vet called on Friday August 17th to say Branna's ashes were ready to be picked up and I started crying all over again. This my Husband and I first loss as a couple of one of our fur babies.
