Well holy cow did we ever get a surprise with Comet. It turns out she has no mountain dog in her. However, we've been told by 9 different people who have or have had an irish wolfhound, that she is the smallest one they have ever seen. She has to have some sort of border collie in her, and we can't totally figure out where her ears came from.
Her coat has that weird sparseness, her shape is identical, only a shorter version, and as she is getting older her face fur is getting longer and longer, and more and more like the pics I was examining. I didn't want to believe it at first, but I've always believed that neither of the pups had terrier in them.
Both Comet and Tucker have soft, soft fur
Tucker definitely looks like a small golden retriever mixed with shih-tzu/chihuahua.
We ended up having to take Tucker back from my sister as her husband decided he only wants non-shedding dogs, and threatened to take him to the pound. So, we got the cuddly boy back. He behaves better, in some ways.
The pups are 3 now. 3!!!!!! Tucker has difficulty staying trim, but Comet seems to have hollow legs.
They are all fabulous dogs, and they are all loving, and are all stable. There's still the usual snarks and snarls, but for the most part they all get along wonderfully.
Tucker, as it turns out, is as dumb as a sack of hammers. But, according to most people we meet, Tucker has a serious case of the handsomes. So, his cuteness is carrying him very far.
We saved 3 kittens, and 2 have survived. Long story. Maybe another day.
My lack of attendance on the site is due to my lack of highspeed internet access. Hopefully I'll have my own soon. I hope the video I loaded makes someone smile.
I wasn't as into pets when i first got the dogs, but I've become a convert and would kill for my doglets, and now my catlets.
I couldn't imagine life without them. My husband and I crossed the country this summer, (prior to getting the kittens) and the 3 dogs came with us and tent-camped the whole 5 weeks. They were wonderful travellers, and we were so grateful for that.
Tucker used to be a whiner in the car. He must have had anxiety. I started taking them all to the lake 5 mins away and he got so he looked forward to it. Once we started across the country he was an old pro. In fact, he was the first one to want to jump into the tow-truck when our air conditioner compressor went. Typical boy. His face lit up, and you could almost hear him say, "Oh boy!!! Look at that truck!!!! Can we got for a ride???" LMAO
They are so hilarious, each in their own way.
Both my husband and I suffer with mental illness. The dogs have literally saved my husband's life. He couldn't kill himself because they needed him. He's gotten past that now, and enjoys life actually. He wasn't ever really into the cat we had before, but Kitten warmed up to him and eventually won over my hubby's heart. Now he is a sucky baby with the kittens. They're so teenie and his hands are so big and strong, and he's so gentle with them. He's in love. LOL
How could we, as a human race, ever get on without pets? I have no idea.
