Dogs-off lease!

Is your dog obedient? Does she/he listen to you 24/7, sleep by you at night, knows some pretty cool tricks? Dogs are related from wolves, so they have the instint to follow a leader or they will be the leader. Another question, do you leave your dog off leash, at a park, beach, when you go on walks, outside the house? I take my dog "steel" on at least one walk a day, either on the bike, regular walk with him by my side, or a stroller walk with one of my cats in the stroller. On this day i put blossom in the stroller, and got steel and we went on a 1 hour walk. Along the way i saw 2 dogs sitting in the garage, they seemed like trained dogs, i past keeping a strong, calm energy. Steel and blossom didnt seem to see the 2 dogs. I then hear a little maltese mix run at me barking, and the brown lab starts charging too. I put the brakes on the pet stroller, and quickly correct the strang dogs behavior by standing in front of the 2 strange dogs saying "shhh", the dogs stopped barking and ran to smell steel. Steel was happy to see other dogs, my cat blossom was not to happy, luckly for her the dogs didnt see her. 10 seconds later, the owner comes out, and yells "Im so sorry, i left the dogs outside again!" the brown lab ran off and began smelling the neighbors tree, the owner running behind trying to catch him. "sorry to scare you. Im so sorry". And i forgot the situation and continued my walk.

 

First, I have no idea why people think a girl my age is scared of dogs charging at me, its defintly not the first time this has happened.

Second, Dogs should not be off leash unless the dog is completly "trained". This has happened to poor steel 6 times, when we are peacfully walking when a little dog runs out of the house and charges. 70% of the time its a chihuahua, not insult anybody. I love all dogs, but the smaller the dog, the less the owners train the dog.

third, to finalize everything. Im 13 years old and know that training a dog is imporatant, and that keeping a dog off-leash isnt smart unless the dog is trained, completly.
