I was wondering what other people thought about the Ellen D news? As I do work at a Humane Society and the clause of not giving away the adoptee is pretty standard procedure. Not that we would have taken the pup away. We are always at the breaking point for space, and are pretty agreeable to this if the new home is suitable. We would only force the issue if the pup was given to a "bad" home. The return issue is mainly so the pet doesn't end up in a kill shelter. At least that is how we operate. After all that's what it is all about, isn't it? Getting these dogs, puppies, cats and kittens good furever homes. If we waited for the "perfect" home our guys would never have a real home, because of course nothing is good enough for my guys, but in reality I can not take them all home with me. So day after day I gave them the best care I possibly can,shed a tear and miss them when they go. But the feeling you get when they are in a real home with a real family w/ 24/7 LOVE makes it all worth the hard work and heartache. So now that I have rambled in my usual way, I will leave you with this. PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE Spay or Neuter your pet. Responsible pet ownership could put me out of a job, and I would be very happily unemployed! :)
