Mia and her "rollover" trick

yesterday I started to intensely train both mia and jake again. Since i have been really focused on teaching jake new tricks I have neglected mia by ceasing to teach her new tricks and reviewing her old tricks. So far rollover is jake's best trick. he doesn't have to take a few steps before kneeling down to rollover. he basically lays down on his side immediately and rolls over. it's amazing, almost like something out of a shalin soccer movie. mia on the other hand has always struggled with… Continue

Jake's accidents! Notice plural!

Today Jake had a total of 3 accidents just during the morning. Don't know why, but when I woke up, there was on on the bedroom platform and one right next to the potty......Sigh, he is taking longer than Mia took. Mia took exactly one month to become fully trained. He's got about a 60% accuracy to date....That's pretty bad. By one month, Mia was at about 95% accuracy. I think maybe it is harder to train a boy as opposed to a girl. Mia was having accidents too when Jake had them. It seems to…

Double O Seven

Double O Seven: this was our latest project for Mia and Jake. It took two tries to get the lighting right. But we did it! 007 dinner for Mia and Jake. They were quite good as it took about 5 minutes for them to be still for the shot. My husband though it was going to be impossible to do (for both of them to be still and in the picture). Good thing and more importantly, we have taught…

Jake's potty training

We are still having trouble potty training Jake. He's been home for a month and a few days now. Mia at the same age as Jake was already fully potty trained. This was when we went to Malaysia for a few days and we had to leave her at the pet shop. When we came back, I remembered that she had no more accidents.

Jake is still struggling. I guess it's not fair to compare as Jake gets to stay in a much larger space while we are at work as compared to what Mia had. Even when we came…

Mia's nails!

Today, Ethan tried to cut Mia's nails for the first time. I had done it before but because she was so unsteady and I was just too afraid that I was going to cut her that I let him do it. He did the front two legs fine. Just watching him do it made me nervous. I kept asking him not to cut them so close to the tip! Finally when he moved onto her hind legs...... well she struggled a bit and we just thought she didn't like being held down. But when i let her off the couch.... there was blood all…
