Was the arrival of your Pet Kid(s) planned or is there a story?

They were all planned except for Gizmo. We got Gizmo from a cat show. Devon Rexes are rare and we were talking to a breeder from Maryland. She saw that we were good people and mentioned that a breeder she deals with has a cat that lives with her. The breeder she deals with was very sick and they were looking for a home for Gizmo.
