Templeton is laid back,and wants to be loved. [ he was a drop off from a breeder to the pet store. the breeder had too many to keep so they said] He loves to ride on my shoulder and lounge in his house all day. He loves gentle rubs behind the ear, and loves to play in the bathtub with his friend Mr. Jangles.


Mr.Jangles was your typical pet store "feeder" rat. He was saved because he was about to get bought for snake food, and I could not allow that to happen, so I rescued him.
Mr.Jangles is a bit aggressive with food, as he did not get fed in the pet store, and he is learning slowly that humans will not hurt him in our house, and that there will always be food for him.
Mr.Jangles is a work in progress and will one day be a happy go lucky lil guy with a full belly and energy that will over run the house, and all his mates.

Was the arrival of your Pet Kid(s) planned or is there a story?

I went to the pet store, looking for something for my daughters. And I have had pet rats in the past, and sadly they have all went to better places...

I was in the aisle and the pet store sales person said did you know that we have Siamese rats? I said, uhm no.. She then asked if I would like to see them, and immediately I fell in love with Templeton.

My two year old daughter Riley held him, and this was her first run in with a rat.. and she was not scared... and then Templeton pooped all over her, and she fell in love... as did I.

My husband was not too happy with Templeton.. but that did not matter to me, because I was in love already.

Mr. Jangles was just a spur of the moment purchase, because he was going to be snake food. I could not bring myself to let that happen.I rescued him from being snake food, and brought him home.

I plan on inviting more ratties into my home soon. Even though my husband does not like them.. he will learn to get along with them.!
