You will need:

1 Large Bag of Big Marshmallows (White)

1 box of Rice Crispies, use no name.

1/8th cup & 1/8th cup butter, no sub. Room temp important

1 tspn of real Vanilla (optional)

1 teaspoon of green food coloring, or any color tree u want!

1 to 2 plastic funnels, 1 smaller, 1 larger, must be shaped like a cone, like a tree!

I jar of round mixed color sprinkles.

Stars for the top, candy stars (optional)

Wax paper, for liner to put trees on

 

Directions: Not good for kids very hot rice crispies mixture

 

Prepare funnels, clean well, dry, then smear the inside of the funnel with butter, add sprinkles to the inside of the funnels, like little decorations on the tree. Leave on sides. Ready to be stuffed!, Now Warning this scorches very fast, when melting  Marshmallows Add 1/8th cup butter in DEEP scorch free pot {the more butter, softer the mixture will be!!}, no hot spots,( or double boiler works too.) Large pot key!

Spread butter around pot, add marshmallows, melt them down, slowly, once melted, Add vanilla, mix, add green food coloring, to the deepness of green u want! Work quickly!

Add RICE Crispies, stir quick, mix well, watch for scorching..

Next take butter put all over your palms, THIS MIXTURE IS HOT SUGAR! Work very fast to avoid being burned. Take mixture in hands and stuff into funnels, firmly press them onto wax paper to form the shape of a tree, Walla a decorated editable Tree...Christmas trees!!, pop them out onto wax paper ..

Kids can then add stars on the tops; just watch how hot the mixture is.

Work fast mixture scorches, repeat, butter funnels, line with sprinkles, and stuff with mixture, press the funnel down on the counter top for a perfect Christmas tree! Continue until finished Kids love these little trees, for each of them, for nominal fee! They are great to add some strength to trays for stacking!

If they get hard, before eating zap in the microwave for a few seconds to make soft!
