Jazzi Update, Monday morning March 24:
I just got back from picking her up at ER and taking her to our regular Vet. I started at 6AM, and have been discussing all of this with numerous Vets this morning. I am so bewildered and worried about Jazz. The guilt is killing me. I feel like I have let these people perform a major surgery on my baby for nothing - - except that they did say again, the stomach was not working properly until they opened her and massaged it. None of us know what has actually happened to Jazz. She is so pitiful, no emotions of any kind, period. What is ripping my heart out, is that she looks exactly like Tillie after that first stomach surgery at Auburn before she died, exactly the same look.

Dr. Claytor (her regular Vet) is very concerned about her and will watch her all day. Jazzi is in a crate with heating pad and IVs, right next to Dr. Claytor's desk. I am just crazy over all of this. Will she get better? I don't EVEN know the answer to that question.

I will talk with Dr. Claytor at 2pm for the update. I will write again when I hear about her.
I haven't been on here for a while because of my spring break, but WOW... poor Jazzi! I really do hope she gets better! I'm sure the surgery wasn't pointless. If nothing else, it ruled out an obstruction so that's not a part of deciding the diagnosis anymore. Don't beat yourself up over it. I would have had it done to my beloved Pepper also, given that there was no other way to tell. I wish her the best, and you too Bragger.

In my prayers,
Lacey
Another Update:
I just could not wait until 2pm. I just called and they said the following:
Things are looking positive. She urinated in the yard, and passed a small stool. She drank a little bit of water. Her vital signs are good, and she is resting well.
I just wanted to let you all know how much I appreciate your friendship, concerns, and prayers.

Thank God!!! Things are looking up! Thats great!!! Gonna keep praying though till Jazzi is home free!!!!! Amen!!!
Update, Monday March 24, 2:41pm:
I just got off the phone with Jazzi's Vet. She said that Jazz is still stable, but of course not showing much emotion or reaction yet. This is due to the surgery, and hopefully nothing else aside from serious GI upset. She took Jazzi back outside and Jazz did urinate again, in fact for so long that she took her off fluids for a few hours. Jazz is not eating, but will be forced to eat a little by tomorrow, if not on her own. She has not thrown up any, which is a very good sign. Another really good sign: when she was outside to urinate, she tried to trot just a little. This awesome Vet of ours, will take Jazzi home with her tonight to keep a close watch on her. I will get another update before they close.
Last Update I will get today:
I went to the Vet's office and stayed with Jazzi for about an hour. At first, she didn't respond, would just look at me. The last 25 minutes of the visit, after I kissed her little head 100 times, she kissed me back (many times), and wagged her tail a little. The Vet was really happy to see that. And of course, so was I! Her Vet still tells me that we have to wait another 24 to 48 hrs. to see how she does. Which makes me very nervous. But, I have to hold on to her kisses and know that she will get well from all this.
Thanks everyone for your prayers,
Bragger
Oh Bragger... you are making me tear up. You did not do the wrong thing by having the surgery. It sounds like it could very well have saved her life. Think of it this way... if you hadn't opted for the surgery and she got worse, you would have never known if the surgery would have helped and you would have felt guilty for not having it. You opted for the surgery and she is getting better. Whether it was the surgery or not, that made her better, you may never know. But, she is getting better and that's what matters.

I will continue to pray for Jazzi and for you!

Hugs!
Gina
Dear Gina,
Thank you so very much for bringing up some points that have helped me look at this in a more positive light. It's late, I'm tired and still a nervous wreck about her recovery. But, your comments have helped me so much. Thank you friend.
xox,
Bragger
To Everyone: I just cannot believe how wonderful and kind all of you have been to me, during this difficult time in mine and Jazzi's lives. Thank you from the bottom of my heart. I love you all!
get well
Praying Jazzi wil be home with Mama agin REAL soon!
Just a quick update (back is gone, I'll be on later today.):
Jazzi is trying to eat a little on her own. This is a good sign. They said she is more responsive. That is all I could find out this morning. I'll get to talk to Vet after lunch. My back is severe this morning, so I can't go see her, like I planned. I am sending one of my sweet friends here, over to visit. She should help Jazzi too, cause Jazz knows her well and adores her. Then, hopefully I will be able to go in the early afternoon.
Take care all,
Bragger
Update Tuesday 3:20pm:
Praise God! They feel like Jazzi has turned the corner. She has eaten and passed a normal stool. They were very concerned about that. So this is great news!!! I hate to admit it, but I have been sick in bed all day. It has caught up with me in a major way. I am forcing myself to get ready and go visit her. I wanted to be there first thing this morning. But when I got up, I literally couldn't hardly walk with my back. I think it's good enough right now, if I'm really careful. I can't wait to see her!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I'll let you know how the visit goes. Oh, oh. The Vet was eating some plain yogurt. Jazzi begged for some. I said, I thought no people food for Westie whatsoever?? She said, well just so happen, that is just about the only people food they can have a little of. So, she gave her 2 teaspoons of her yogurt. I am so happy. She is still a sick little girl, but things are definitely looking up!
