My pets are like my family. the boys are my brothers and the girls are my sisters. when Pepper and Chewie died it was as if I lost my brother, and equally devastating. I couldn't ask for better best friends, or a better family. Pets frequently show themselves as better companions than humans, and I wouldn't give them up for the world.

Was the arrival of your Pet Kid(s) planned or is there a story?

Panda and Maggie were planned. Panda was a Christmas present when i was five, and maggie was a mosue catcher. Chewie wa ssupposed to be a shi-poo, but turned into a massive mixed dog, and was our first rescue dog. Pepper was our second rescue cat as it seemed no one wanted him. He was given to us by my grandmother. Ellie was our third rescue. She was swimming in my mom's friend's pool, which has three feet of water; Ellie is about a foot tall. Zigzag was our fourth rescue and he is my baby. He followed my mom and her boyfriend home one night and waited on our lawn all night until we let him in. Chloe was our fifth rescue, and she was running down Oxford just past Adelaide at 5 o'clock on a wednesday afternoon. She was chasing cars. Louie was our most recent rescue and was also given to us. He was my Aunt's for three years, until she began dating a man who was deathly allergic. So we ended up with him :)
We have only paid money for two of our animals (with the exception of adoption fees) and that is the way it should be...it makes much more sense to rescue animals who are in dire need of a home and a family, rather than spending hundreds of dollars to buy a puppy or kitten from a breeder.
