Now it doesn;t look like much but it it one of my old favorites and very simple.
I know some of us are going thru some hard times so i thought i would give you a recipe that i cooked up as a girl, tired of the old standard of wieners and beans.
This what you would need for 2 people, and you can store in fridge for up to 4 daysIn a small cook pot, boil 1 full package of wieners,(top dog is best) until cooked (start to split) chop wieners into bite size pieces- hold back 1- 8 oz can of Heinz canned beans with maple syrup ( u can add maple syrup to a can of different beans, like the tomatoe sauce beans, cut back a bit on the ketchup in that case)
2 slices of any sharp or sweet onion cut in small, bite size pieces, put a side. add 1/4 teaspoon of Lawery's seasoning salt, get at any Safeway or grocery store/ add 1/2 tspn of granulated garlic, powder is OK if fresh and use less add 1/2 tspn of ground black pepper. add about 3 heaping table spoons of Heinz ketchupadd about 2 good heaping of Frenches mustard add chopped onions to beans.add 2 slices of Kraft cheese slices, tear up and then add to beansput beans on to cook gentally over med heat, once cheese has melted the beans are done.add all the top dog wieners to the pot, stir, set to cool and rest.for 2 people toast 2 slices of bread each and butter lightly, add a scoop of beans on 1 piece of bread, and use the other to dip into the beans.
This is almost the same as my bbq beans, instead of ketchup i use bbq sauce, follow same directions and put in a pam sprayed cook pot and bake in oven before bbq. I don;t add wieners to these though!
my family loves this and is great for a quick fix at lunch, u can pre make it and kids can take it for lunches.
